It's Back to School for Roseville Area Students

School opens this week for more than 6,500 students.

More than 6,500 students will return to District 623 schools this week, as a new year begins.

Students in grades 1-9 and students new to Roseville Area High School will start school on Tuesday, while classes for kindergarten students and returning high school students will start on Wednesday.

Ninth-graders and other new students at Roseville Area High School will be welcomed with a large group assembly in the gymnasium at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday. Other orientation events include an activities fair at noon.

Students at Roseville Area Middle School will kick off a new program that encourages positive student behavior on Thursday and Friday.  Eighth-graders will attend a kick-off ceremony at 8:05 a.m. Thursday in the auditorium.  Seventh-graders will attend a similar ceremony at 8:05 a.m. Friday. That event is also in the auditorium.

Schedules for elementary schools -- Brimhall, Central Park, Edgerton, Emmet Williams, Falcon Heights and Little Canada --  can be accessed on the District 623 Web site, www.isd623.org.

District 623 provides K-12 education to students in all or portions of seven communities:  Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Little Canada, Lauderdale, Maplewood, Roseville, and Shoreview.  The district also serves several hundred pre-school and adult students.
