Scott,

Both parties are caucusing. Why only photos of one party?

I'm glad to here local issues like Voter ID, State Shut Down, and Forced Daycare Union were all brought up.

Reason for only pictures of the one party, because the democrats already know their candidate. Mr. Fraser, what was said about the local issues?

Thanks, Penna 1965.

However, I'd still like to hear from the Editor on this one.

Many Patches will also have individual stories on the DFL caucuses posted tonight or tomorrow. Check your local Patch to see. For any Hopkins readers, here's the piece on the DFL caucus here: http://hopkins.patch.com/articles/state-issues-dominate-hopkins-dfl-caucuses

Less than 80% of 2008 turnout this year. I think we are now seeing without question that you need to run on more than just a "I hate Obama" platform to inspire confidence and motivate voters. The GOP is risking more than just a Presidential election by failing to come up with new and inspiring policies and ideas. No wonder this field is D.O.A..

Local issues break down at Rep caucus-
Voter ID is needed to bring back the integrity of the vote.
State Shutdowns can be avoided through legislation and no longer used as a threat to avoid dealing with the budget.
Forced Union Daycare is unlawful as it mandates that an owner of a business (often with no employees) is to join a union against their will.
These were mentioned as some of the issues facing our state represntatives.

Andrea: Actually, it wasn't just two parties caucusing last night; the Independence and Green parties, in addition to the GOP and the DFL, held meetings. Even with 26 folks on the ground, however, we can't be everywhere at once, and given that the big news this time around was the straw ballot for a GOP presidential candidate, we focused our efforts there. That won't be the case during the general election, I assure you!

Thanks, Scott.

It did occur to me that there were more than two parties caucusing last night. But you make an important point.

Regards 26 people on the ground. With due respect, that is more than enough to provide more balanced coverage.

If she did that she couldn't play the victim.
