The Roseville Police Department on Monday announced that Corey Yunke is its new community relations coordinator - crime analyst.
Yunke, who started his new post June 4, comes to Roseville from Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he had previously worked as the executive director of a non-profit, neighborhood association and also doubled as the crime prevention organizer, Roseville Police said in a news statement.
Yunke replaces former Community Relations Coordinator Sarah Mahmud who was promoted to police services manager for Roseville in May.
Yunke will be responsible for various public safety programs, including: Neighborhood Watch, Citizens Park Patrol, Family Night Out, Night to Unite, Citizen’s Academy and Shop with a Cop, Roseville Police said. He will also provide support with crime data, crime statistics, and crime trending.
Yunke has a bachelor of science in geography and urban planning from Grand Valley State University and had been working toward a master's degree in public administration, Roseville Police said.
Yunke and his wife; Kate, have two daughters, Lydia and Lauren.
