Here is the Police Department's statement:
"At 6:38 a.m. today, the Roseville Police Department responded to a car versus school bus crash in the 900 block of County Road B2. The initial investigation indicates the Centerline School Bus was traveling west bound on County Road B2 when it was struck head on by an east bound passenger SUV that had crossed over the center line and struck the bus.
At the time of the crash, the school bus was occupied only by its driver who had just begun his route to pick up children attending St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. The driver of the school bus has been identified as 45 year old Little Canada man and he is cooperating with police.
The deceased has been identified as a 65-year old Roseville man. It is unknown what caused the driver of the SUV to cross over the centerline and strike the school bus. The Roseville Police Department will not release the name of the deceased until his next of kin have been notified.
The preliminary investigation doesn’t indicate alcohol or speed as a contributing factor in this crash.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has taken possession of the deceased and will be performing an autopsy later today."
