The city of Roseville offers two days for residents to recycle old car seats.

Editor's note: The following announcement comes from the latest city of Roseville email newsletter:

Used car seats can’t be given to charity so what do you do when your little one outgrows the seat?

The city of Roseville has arranged for two occasions where you can recycle old car seats. Drop off your car seats at either the rain barrel and compost bin sale pick up on Saturday, April 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or at the Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The cost is $10 and pays for the dismantling of the seat into its components (plastic, metal, strapping) so they can be recycled. Currently 95 percent of the material is recycled – and we’re working to get the other 5 percent recycled too.

You must prepay for the drop off at the rain barrel and compost bin sale using a credit card by visiting the Recycling Association of Minnesota website www.recycleminnesota.org.
