She's Campaigning _ For a Trader Joe's
Nicole Lindstrom is looking for the trendy grocer to open a store in the Roseville-Falcon Heights area.
In the midst of the election season, Nicole Bement Lindstrom is out waging her own campaign: She trying to get California-based Trader Joe's to open one of its stores in the Roseville-Falcon Heights area.
Lindstrom, of Falcon Heights, told Roseville Patch she has started the following online petition in hopes of getting a Trader Joe's to the area. Here is the link to the petition: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/686/828/356/bring-trader-joes-to-falcon-heightsroseville-mn/ Her goal is to get at least 1,000 signatures.
Here's Lindstrom's explanation for the petition:
"Having lived in the area for 10 years, I feel confident saying that this would be a perfect market for Trader Joe's to have a highly successful store. Of course, there are several grocery stores already in the area - but Trader Joe's offers a unique shopping experience and exclusive products that I would love to get my hands on, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way.
There are some TJ stores already in the Twin Cities area, but none that are really convenient to my location - the one on Lexington is 20 minutes away, and 40 minutes round trip for groceries is not something I will do, especially with young children.
I've checked their (Trader Joe's) website every few months for many, many years to see if there's one close to me listed in the future stores section and am always disappointed. It finally occurred to me that I should tell them how great a store would do in my area, and what better way to say that than with many voices at once.
It would be great to have petition signatures from anyone who would shop at a Trader Joe's in the Roseville/Falcon Heights area. It will only take a minute to add your name. We can do this!"
Lindstrom is the wife of Falcon Heigts Mayor Peter Lindstrom.

Your wish is my command. I have directed that a store be built in Shoreview at 694 and Lexington. You all can thank me later.

I'm excited for the Shoreview store but still wish we had one in Roseville!

Gentleman, we already have too many grocery stores in this area, including the new Walmart store going in next year! Granted, none like TJ's!!! Anyway, where does Mrs. Lindstrom propose they build it? Falcon Heights is pretty much land locked.

Trader Joe's tried to come to Roseville in 2006, but there weren't any available liquor licenses. The City Council is unable/unwilling to fix the problem, so there likely will not ever be a TJ's here, especially if there will now be one in Shoreview. They generally maintain space between their stores. Besides, Tammy McGehee claims that Roseville doesn't have the income base to support a TJ's or Whole Foods -- nevermind the fact that it might be wise to support development in order to *attract* higher incomes to the area. Whatever. Forest for the trees and all that.
Either way, it will be nice to have one in Shoreview. That's definitely closer than any of the others. On the other hand, I'll now have even easier access to cases of Three-Buck Chuck, which may not be a good thing :)

Old Circuit City would be a great TJ location.
