A National Dermatology Expert Sets Up Shop in Roseville

Among the new medical providers in Roseville is Dr. Mohiba K. Tareen, a dermatologist who this summer relocated to the city to open her clinic at the Roseville Medical &  Dental Center.

Dr. Tareen, who previously practiced in New York City, said in a statement that she believes all patients with skin lesions that could be cancerous  should be able to see a dermatologist within one week. A quick doctor visit is especially important for senior patients, she said.

In seniors, scientific research shows that certain skin cancers may grow very quickly," Dr. Tareen said. "So they must be evaluated in a timely manner in order to prevent disfigurement or even death."

Tareen's staff said that data from the American Academy of Dermatology shows that counties with a higher number of dermatologists have better skin cancer survival rates.

According to Tareern's web site, she serves as the national expert dermatologist for Web MD  and is frequently interviewed in the media for her clinical knowledge.
