Roseville Council approves the penalty after the restaurant failed an under-age liquor sales check.
The city of Roseville has levied a $1,000 fine and one-day suspension against the Szechuan restaurant, 2193 Snelling Ave. N., for recently failing an under-aged liquor sales check. The Roseville City Council on Monday night OKed the police department levying that penalty after Lt. Lorne Rosand reported that a waiter at the restaurant on April 11 served an undercover, under-aged buyer a Miller Geniune draft beer without checking their ID. Appearing before the Council, Szechuan owner Jessie Wong expressed regrets about the incident. "I'm sorry it happened and it won't happen again," she said. Ron Lopez, an 11-year veteran of Wal-Mart Stores, will serve as the first manager of the discounter's new Roseville supercenter when it debuts in about a year "It is really exciting to join the group here in Roseville," said Lopez, who is now manager of Wal-Mart's store in St. Anthony Village. Funeral services for Mary Lou Christofore, of Roseville, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday ( May 20) at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2048 N. Hamline Ave., Roseville. Christofore, 85, died on May 13. She "was an active volunteer and enjoyed tennis and longblading into her late 70s," according to her obituary. "A good friend to all who had the joy of knowing her and will be so missed!" Visitation Sunday Visitation is scheduled 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday (May 19) at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Roseville, 2130 N.
