 s is the weekend to adopt a dog from Animal Humane Society!\nThe number 
 of dog adoptions as of  late has been lower than usual&nbsp\;at Animal H
 umane Society\, keeping dogs  and puppies in our shelters longer than we
  want or they deserve. We need the community's  help to find new homes f
 or our dogs. As an incentive\, AHS has special  discounts this weekend t
 o encourage people to act now to adopt a dog or  puppy.\nOne weekend onl
 y\, Saturday and Sunday June 23  and 24\, AHS is offering a 20% discount
  on dog adoption fees and a 10%  discount on puppy adoption fees.&nbsp\;
 &nbsp\;Adoption fees include vaccinations\,  spay/neuter\, microchip\, f
 ree ID tag &amp\; collar  and more.&nbsp\; &nbsp\;\nAdoptable dogs and p
 uppies can be  viewed on our website or in person at any of our five fac
 ilities:  Buffalo\, Coon Rapids\, Golden Valley\, St. Paul\, and Woodbur
 y. Adoption  centers are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  on Saturday and Su
 nday.\nFor anyone considering adopting a  dog\, summer is a great time t
 o do it. &nbsp\;It&rsquo\;s easier to house train a  puppy in the summer
 . A new canine friend adds to the enjoyment of many  summer activities -
 - walks around the lakes\, a trip  to the cabin\, playing outside with t
 he kids. &nbsp\;Kids are out of school  and can get to know the dog and 
 help take care of it.&nbsp\; And\, of course\,  there&rsquo\;s the grati
 fication of giving a shelter dog a fresh start and a  new home.
