Funeral Services Thursday for 92-Year-Old Evelyn Gagne

The Roseville woman was a charter member of St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church and worked for years in the jewelry department of the former Dayton's at Rosedale Center.

To her family, she was "the queen of our Gagne Girls Tea."

But Evelyn Gagne, 92, who died last Saturday; also left her mark on Roseville, the town she called home for decades: She worked for 34 years at the old Dayton's jewelry department at Rosedale Center before retiring at the age of 82.

Gagne was also a charter member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, which was founded in 1939. And she was also past president and Gold Star Mother of Rosetown American Legion Post, a War Memorial Blood Donor, member of Ramsey County Sheriffs Auxiliary and an avid poker player, according to her obituary.

Visitation for Gagne is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the 2245 N. Hamline Ave. (1 block south of Hwy 36 in Roseville).

Then, funeral services for Gagne are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 31) at  St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2048 N. Hamline Ave. Interment will follow at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

According to her obit, Gagne was preceded in death by: her husband Ralph J. Gagne (1995); her son Sgt. Joseph J. Gagne (1970); sisters Mary Kosanda, Irene Jensen, Alice Osterlund, Florence Neilsen and brother William Kroening.

She is survived by: daughters Margaret Holdahl (John), Florence Hall (Al); and, daughter-in-law Jenell Gagne (Denny); grandchildren Denise, Kristine, Florence, Eric, Sarah and Mitchell; great grandchildren Jada, Olaf, Maddy, Regan, and Joseph.
