Give a Commemorative Brick for Christmas?

Roseville Parks and Recreation say the purchase benefits a city treasure.

At holiday time, the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department suggests giving a different kind of gift to honor a friend or family member while also supporting the city's Muriel Sahlin Arboretum at Central Park.

In its latest weekly newsletter, city officials suggest buying a comemorative brick-for $100 or $200 apiece-to remember a family member or friend at the arboretum's  Celebration Walk.

"At this time there are approximately 350 bricks purchased since 1997," according to Kara Thomas, Parks and Recreation Department assistant.
