Give a Commemorative Brick for Christmas?

Roseville Parks and Recreation say the purchase benefits a city treasure.

At holiday time, the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department suggests giving a different kind of gift to honor a friend or family member while also supporting the city's Muriel Sahlin Arboretum at Central Park.

In its latest weekly newsletter, city officials suggest buying a comemorative brick-for $100 or $200 apiece-to remember a family member or friend at the arboretum's  Celebration Walk.

"At this time there are approximately 350 bricks purchased since 1997," according to Kara Thomas, Parks and Recreation Department assistant.

Brick purchases are tax deductible and the cost is $100 for a four by eight inch or $200 for an eight by eight inch brick, the city said. For further information, visit  www.rosevillecentralpark.com  or call 651-792-7103.

The Sahlin Arboretum is an eight-acre oasis of beauty in the middle of Roseville, featuring beautiful gardens and manicured grounds.
