KOOL 108 Radio Rocks The Red Kettle Today

The radio station's event is a fundraiser for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle program.

Twin Cities radio station KOOL 108 today is sponsoring the "Rock The Red Kettle"  mega-fundraiser for the Twin Cities Salvation Army.

The radio station, KQQL-107.9 FM, is attempting to help the charity raise $108,000 in about 10 hours for the Salvation Army, which has its ubiquitous Red Kettles at 108 locations across the Twin Cities.  The Ked Kettles are stationed at primarily Cub Foods supermarkets and Rocco Altobelli hair salons.

In Roseville, the Red Kettles are at the Rocco Altobelli store at Rosedale Center and the Cub Foods supermarket at HarMar Mall. The fundraiser continues until 6:08 p.m. today (Saturday).

"The goal is to raise $1,000 in each kettle for a total of $108,000 - a new record for a kickoff to a Twin Cities Salvation Army campaign," according to campaign officials. "Funds raised will stay in the Twin Cities neighborhoods served by The Salvation Army."
