Edina Realty Roseville Office Gets a New Branch Manager

Brian Thistle takes the lead in the midst of rising home sales.

It's been good timing for Brian Thistle as he has made a career change at Edina Realty.

The 12-year real estate veteran recently became the new branch manager of Edina Realty's Roseville office, now overseeing and supporting the work of 52 Realtors.

"It's been a great time and a lot of fun again," said Thistle, who assumed branch manager duties at the end of June at a time local real estate is making a sustained rebound. (He succeeds Lisa Meyer in the post) "Sellers and buyers are confident again in moving."

In its most recent report, the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors said  Roseville's number of closed sales and median sales price both rose in June compared with the same month in 2011.

That ongoing uptick mirrored the rising fortunes of the Twin Cities-area housing market where the median home price posted a 10.7 percent year-over-year increase, the fourth consecutive monthly gain in 2012.

Thistle said he expects July housing results to be strong, as well.

Meanwhile, Thistle said he likes being in real estate because "it is always changing and there are new challenges. This is something I really enjoy doing."

Thistle is a graduate of Totino-Grace High School and earned a bachelor of arts in business from the University of St. Thomas.
