Roseville 24 Out of 45 Minnesota Markets

Coldwell Banker survey measures home price listing affordability.

When it comes to home affordability in Minnesota, Roseville ranks in about the middle of the pack, according to new national survey released this week by Coldwell Banker Real Estate.

Among 45 Minnesota real estate markets surveyed, Roseville placed 24th for the average listing price of a four-bedroom, two bathroom home. That price was $207,668, more than No, 1 ranked Owatonna at $146,652, the most affordable, but less than No. 45 ranked Red Wing at $348,493, the most expensive. That represents slightly more than a $200,000 spread between the cheapest and most expensive homes.

On a national basis, Roseville ranked 865 for affordability out of some 2,300 U.S. markets surveyed.

Compared to the national average of $293,251, the average four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Minnesota overall was $211,633, Coldwell Banker said in a statement.

Dick Einan, a Twin Cities Coldwell Banker real estate agent, told Roseville Patch the survey results were good news” for Roseville “being in the middle of the pack.”  He contended Roseville’s ranking is good given that, among other things, it is centrally located between the Twin Cities two major downtowns, has a large shopping district with Rosedale and HarMar malls and boasts a strong parks system.

“It’s a good solid community,” said Einan, of Einan Home Team, which offices from White Bear Lake but counts Roseville for more than half of its business.

The Coldwell Banker HLR provides the average home listing price of four-bedroom, two-bathroom properties on coldwellbanker.com that were listed between September 2010 and March 2011 from more than 2,300 North American markets, the company said. Markets included in the U.S. report were required to have at least 10 properties fitting the above criteria within the relevant timeframe.  The following is Minnesota communities surveyed by Coldwell Banker Real Estate:
