Roseville Honors Its Finest

Officers touted for exceptional work to stop prostitution, capture armed robbers and proactively patrol Rosedale Center.

The city of Roseville this month honored several police officers and volunteer citizens for their work or assistance in law enforcement, including bestowing the Medal of Honor on two patrolmen.

Receiving the Medal of Honor at the city Police Department's annual awards ceremony on May 17 were Officers Joe Adams and Grant Dattilo. The two men were recognized for their response to a domestic assault that turned violent.

In a news update this week, the city said the Medal of Honor is awarded to an officer who distinguishes him or herself by an extraordinary act of heroism. "The officer must be aware of the danger and act beyond the call of duty at the risk of his or her own life," the city said.
