Bakery's Presidential Cookie poll

The Roseville Bakery, 1147 Larpenteur Ave., is having a bit of fun with the election: It's making Obama and Romney decorated cookies and seeing which kind sells the most. So far, as of 4 p.m., the Romney cookies were outpacing Obama cookies, ,222 to 1,006.

(Update. Final) The bakery closed a a few minutes past 6 p.m. and the last cookies have been sold. The Roseville Bakery has declared Mitt Romney the winner of its Presidential Cookie poll.

Obama supporters tried to narrow the gap late in the day. But in the cookie countdown, Romney-decorated cookies iced Obama cookies by a vote of 1,335 to 1,185.

This post will be updated throughout the day.

The Pizza Party

Tuesdays are always a two-for-one day at Zpizza in Roseville. But Election Day was especially busy for the pizza shop, said Jacob Eayrs, kitchen manager.

Eayrs estimated that pizza sales were up more than 30 percent compared with a typical Tuesday. "A lot of people are ordering pizza and sitting back and watching the elections," he said.
