Editor's note: The following news release was submitted by Nancy Livingston, of Century College's communications office:

International business speaker and best-selling sports author Ross Bernstein will give a talk on “The Champion’s Code” at Century College at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7  in the West Campus Theatre. Century College is located in White Bear Lake at 3300 Century Ave.

Bernstein will talk about life lessons related to ethics and accountability - from the sports world to the business world. He also will speak at 11 a.m. on Feb. 7 in The Nest, the student center at Century. His talk at that time will be how to combine your passion, along with a little bit of karma, to create your dream job. Both events are free and open to the public.

An avid hockey player and the author of more than 50 best-selling sports books, Bernstein is also the president of the Herb Brooks Foundation Board of Directors.

Bernstein travels the country giving talks to business people who want to think and act more like champions. His books have reached number one multiple times in the sports category on Amazon.com, and his book “The Code” has reached a top world-wide sales ranking.

Bernstein grew up in Fairmont, Minnesota, and attended the University of Minnesota. When he didn’t make the Golden Gopher hockey team in 1992, he became the team’s mascot and wrote a popular book called “Gopher Hockey by the Hockey Gopher.”

After graduating from college, Bernstein lived in Chicago and New York City and worked as vice president of marketing for a company he co-founded. In 1997, he moved back to Minnesota to become a full-time sports author.
