Blizek Named New Liaison Officer for Roseville High

Blizek has been with the Rosevile Police Department since 2005.

The city of Roseville announced this week that Lacey Blizek will become police liaison officer starting this fall at Roseville Area High School.

Blizek replaces Maureen Sikorra, who recently retired from the Roseville police force. She has been a patrol officer for Roseville since March, 2005, according to the city.

“The school liaison officer (SLO) plays a critical component for providing public safety in Roseville. The SLO is in a unique position to constantly and positively interact with young adults in a setting comfortable to them,”  Roseville Police Chief Rick Mathwig said in a statement. “The SLO pairs with school staff to increase safety in and around RAHS.” .

The city noted that during the school year, Roseville High is a town unto itself with an enrollment of 2,100 students.
"It requires additional security than Roseville patrol officers can provide. So the school district pays approximately two-thirds of an SLO’s salary to work at the school. The SLO serves in addition to school personnel to provide safety in and around the high school grounds."

During the school year Officer Blizek will spend school days at RAHS. She may travel to other schools within the district, if needed."
