Central Park Elementary Teachers Win $1,000 Grants

Jan Barke and Jeanne Snyder, Reading Recovery teachers, win grants from the Reading Recovery Council of North America.

Editor's note: The following news release was submitted by the Roseville School District 623 public relations office:

The Reading Recovery Council of North America (RRCNA) recently notified Jan Barke and Jeanne Snyder, Reading Recovery teachers from Central Park Elementary in Roseville, that they have each been selected as recipients of $1,000 National Conference Professional Development Grants.

All grants are awarded through a national competition administered by the Reading Recovery Council of North America and are used to cover Conference and Preconference registration, travel, hotel, and per diem expenses associated with attending the Conference.

With these funds, Jan and Jeanne will be able to attend the Reading Recovery National Conference in Columbus, Ohio, in early February and will be able to share their learning with their entire school site.

Florence Odegard, principal at Central Park Elementary, supported Jan and Jeanne with a strong supervisor recommendation explaining the value these two teachers and Reading Recovery have brought to her school.
