Ice Season Back at John Rose Oval Skating Center

Skating staff has been working around-the-clock making ice.

The Guidant John Rose Minnesota OVAL is set to open today (Friday, Nov. 9). City staff has been working around the clock making ice.
 
This weekend's public skating schedule is as follows:
Friday, Nov. 9 – 6:00-9:00 p.m,
Saturday, Nov. 10 – 1-3:00 p.m. and 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 11 – 5:30-8:30 p.m.

  • The 110,000 square-foot OVAL is the largest refrigerated ice surface in North America with four hockey rinks surrounded by a 400-meter track.
  • The OVAL's cooling system includes more than 800 tons of refrigeration and 84 miles of underground piping that helps maintain world-class ice, even when temperatures climb into the 50s.
