Roseville Riders Place High in Minnesota High School Cycling Meet

Ethan Furois placed second in the boys' varsity division in the mountain bike event.


Four Roseville area kids were among top finishers in the Minnesota High School Cycling League’s second mountain bike race of the 2013 season last weekend at Jail Trail in St. Cloud. 

Altogether, there were about 250 high school cycling competitors, according to officials with the Minnesota High School Cycling League. 

In the Boys Varsity division, Ethan Furois from Roseville placed second. In the boys' sophomore division, Zach VanSickle from Roseville came in second, while Wyatt Furois of Roseville placed fourth in the freshman boys' division.

Among girl riders, Kayla Egle of the Roseville area placed fourth in the girls' sophomore division.  

“Jail Trail was tricky,” said MN League Race Director Gary Sjoquist said in a news release. “With swoopy turns, rocks, roots, and some really tight full-lock corners, our high schoolers rode a great trail and should all feel proud about new-found abilities on a mountain bike.”
