Meet Rosefest's Grand Marshal-Ken Hansen

He was a fundraiser for the parade for 13 years.

When Roseville holds its Rosefest Parade Monday night (June 24), organizers of the annual summer festival will pay homage to one of their long-time supporters.
The grand marshal of the 2013 Rosefest parade is Ken Hansen, who served on the parade's organizing committee from 1992 to 2005.
(Youth grand marshals are members of the Roseville High School girls gymnastics team, which won the 2013 Class AA state championship.)
Hansen, 88, served primarily as a fundraiser for the parade. Through those years, he also helped with parade parking.
"It was a surprise to me to be named as a grand marshal," said Hansen, a retired district sales manager since 1987. But he noted, "When I retired, I decided to give back to the community."
Hansen isn't the only one in his family deeply involved in the Rosefest Parade, which this year has 90 units. His wife of 67 years, Lorraine, helps recruits the marching bands while daughter Diane Lang sets the line-up of units for the entire parade.
"The parade is always something we have been involved in," Ken said.
