North Suburban Gavel Association Honors Eight

Annual Leadership Recognition dinner held at Roseville Skating Center's banquet room.

The North Suburban Gavel Association recently held its 33rd annual Leadership Recognition Dinner, paying tribute to eight community leaders.

The Gavel Association selected eight individuals for the award this year based on their leadership and volunteerism that has made a significant difference within an organization or the community, said Nancy Robbins, Association chairwoman.

Honored this year were Bev Aplikowski (nominated by Jan Parker, Ramsey County Commissioner); Amy Anderson (nominated by Roseville Area Schools); Leslie Berry (nominated by Roseville Parks and Recreation); Dr. Robert Brown (nominated by Don Salverda); Deborah Sully(nominated by Bill Sauer); John Sweeney (nominated by North Suburban Golden K Kiwanis);Daphne Thompson (nominated by Rosetown Playhouse Community Theatre); and Jan Thul(nominated by Friends of Roseville Parks).

Founded in 1964, the North Suburban Gavel Association is dedicated to  promoting communication and cooperation of community organization leaders in the north suburban Ramsey County area, to keep leaders informed about community activities and to recognize outstanding volunteer leaders.
