Funeral Today for The Rev. Daniel Simundson, Former Luther Seminary Professor

Simundson, of Roseville, was an expert in Old Testament studies.

Funeral services for the Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Simundson, religious author and former professor at Luther Seminary, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Monday) at the seminary, 1490 Fulham St., St. Paul. Visitation will precede the service at 1 p.m.  Simundson, 79, of Roseville, died on Jan. 28. He taught for 31 years at Luther Seminariy, gaining recognition for his work and teaching in Old Testament studies, according to his obituary.   According to his obituary, Simundson was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, son to Kolbeinn and Groa (Thorsteinson) Simundsson.  He earned a B.A. degree in 1955 from Stanford University and a B.D. degree from Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago in 1959. Funeral Services Thursday for 92-Year-Old Evelyn Gagne

The Roseville woman was a charter member of St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church and worked for years in the jewelry department of the former Dayton's at Rosedale Center.

To her family, she was "the queen of our Gagne Girls Tea." But Evelyn Gagne, 92, who died last Saturday; also left her mark on Roseville, the town she called home for decades: She worked for 34 years at the old Dayton's jewelry department at Rosedale Center before retiring at the age of 82. Gagne was also a charter member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, which was founded in 1939. And she was also past president and Gold Star Mother of Rosetown American Legion Post, a War Memorial Blood Donor, member of Ramsey County Sheriffs Auxiliary and an avid poker player, according to her obituary. Roseville District 623 Superintendent: Dick Caron "Embraced His Disability"

This past Wednesday, family and friends of Richard "Dick" Caron paid their last final respects to the former Roseville teacher, who died on Jan. 3. Caron, 68, worked for many years in the Roseville Public Schools, including his last 13 years as a teaching assistant to technology and graphic arts teacher Brian Hoag at Roseville Area High School. His funeral service was at  Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Roseville. Since his death, Caron, a quadriplegic, has received scores of tributes from former students, colleagues and friends. A Quadriplegic in Life, Caron Focused on What He Could Do, Not on What He Couldn't

When family and friends pay their last respects Wednesday morning to Richard "Dick" Caron, they will remember a Roseville man who was a quadriplegic that didn't let his disability get him down. Caron, 68, died on Jan. 3. Caron, a retired Roseville teacher, "taught us that when you work with people with disabilities to focus not on what they can't do but on what they can do," recalled Bob Rygh, former Roseville District 623 directior of human resources and operations and one-time principal at Roseville Area High School. "He inspired kids and was a role model to adults and students. He was just a delightful man." Funeral services for Virginia L. Joyce, of Roseville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday (Jan. 11) at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 1414  N. Dale St., St. Paul. Joyce died on Jan. 1. She was known as "a strong, independent woman who remained active throughout her life," working the last 20 years part-time at the John Traeger Insurance Agency, according to an obituary from Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Roseville. Funeral services for retired Roseville teacher Richard J. "Dick" Caron are scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday ( Jan. 9) at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Roseville,  2130 N. Dale St. Caron, 68, died on Jan. 3. He was a former teacher at Roseville Area High School, according to his obituary submtted by Mueller-Bies. Funeral Set Thursday for Adora Miller, Long-Time Nurse and Wife of 59 Years

Roseville woman and her husband were the second couple to get married at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Roseville.

Adora Jean Miller was known to her family and friends  for her "giving heart." Adora's loving spirit was two-fold: She was married to husband Gordon R. Miller for 59 years. Funeral Services Set This Morning for Parnell McCabe

The 91-year-old Roseville man, a former Grain Belt Brewery employee, died on Dec. 12.

  Funeral services for Parnell F. McCabe, of Rosevile, are scheduled for 11 a.m. today (Tuesday, Dec. 18) at  The Church of St. Genevieve, 7087 Goiffon Road, Centerville. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville. McCabe, 91, died this past Wednesday (Dec. 12) surrounded by his family. He was born in Cresco, Iowa and lived most of his life in Roseville, according to his obituary. He was a longtime employee of the Grain Belt Brewery. McCabe was preceded in death by wife Lois and daughter Susan. Funeral Visitation on Thursday for Patrick Emery

Emery worked for the Roseville Public Schools.

A funeral visitation for Patrick F. Emery, an employee of the Roseville Public Schools,  will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 6) at the Sandberg Funeral Home. The funeral home is located at 2593 E. Seventh Ave. in North St. Paul. Emery, 49, was the evening lead custodian at Fairview Community Center at the Roseville schools, according to a school district official. Emery died unexpectedly on Nov. 29, according to an obituary notice from Sandberg Funeral Home. "He was a proud Italian." Emery is survived by Rachael Emery; son Erick Emery; parents Kathy and Tom Emery and brother John Emery. Private interment will be held at Union Cemetery.
