Marriage Amendment Forum Set Tuesday Night

A panel of speakers will discuss the pros and cons of the Marriage Amendment at a town hall meeting at the Maplewood Community Center.

The Human Rights commissions from Roseville and Maplewood are sponsoring a free forum Tuesday night (Oct. 23) on the proposed constitutional Marriage amendment. The presentation, where pros and cons will be discussed, will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Maplewood Community Center, 2100 White Bear Ave, Maplewood. Speakers will include Mark Osler, professor of law at the University of St. Thomas; Ann Kaner-Roth from Project 515; Dr. Laura Boisen, professor of Social Work at Augsburg College and the Rev. Grant Stevensen of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, St Paul. Patch is Collecting Questions for Next Obama- Romney Presidential Debate

If you have a question for the candidates, submit it in the comments section below and it could be asked during the televised Oct. 16 Town Hall Presidential Debate.

If last Wednesday’s presidential debate left you with more questions than answers, here’s your chance for the presidential candidates to address the issues that most matter to you. The next presidential debate will be a town hall meeting format at Hofstra University in Long Island, where voters will ask Barack Obama and Mitt Romney about domestic and foreign policy. Patch is asking you, our readers, to participate by submitting questions for the candidates. If your church or place of worship doesn't want to preform same-sex marriages, that's fine by fine. But your personal beliefs are no reason to deny me the ability to marry who I want. LIVE BLOG REPLAY: Mitt Romney Campaigns at Freightmasters in Eagan

The presidential hopeful paid Eagan a visit with Tim Pawlenty on Wednesday afternoon.

Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney held a campaign stop in Eagan at Freightmasters with former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty on Wednesday—and Patch covered the event live.  Romney's visit is in advance of Minnesota's GOP caucuses, scheduled for Feb. 7. Local DFL and Republican groups will be holding caucuses in Eagan that night.
