A panel of speakers will discuss the pros and cons of the Marriage Amendment at a town hall meeting at the Maplewood Community Center.
The Human Rights commissions from Roseville and Maplewood are sponsoring a free forum Tuesday night (Oct. 23) on the proposed constitutional Marriage amendment. The presentation, where pros and cons will be discussed, will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Maplewood Community Center, 2100 White Bear Ave, Maplewood. Speakers will include Mark Osler, professor of law at the University of St. Thomas; Ann Kaner-Roth from Project 515; Dr. Laura Boisen, professor of Social Work at Augsburg College and the Rev. Grant Stevensen of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, St Paul. The presidential hopeful paid Eagan a visit with Tim Pawlenty on Wednesday afternoon.
Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney held a campaign stop in Eagan at Freightmasters with former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty on Wednesday—and Patch covered the event live. Romney's visit is in advance of Minnesota's GOP caucuses, scheduled for Feb. 7. Local DFL and Republican groups will be holding caucuses in Eagan that night.
