Roseville Concert In The Park

Will concert be a case of "Water Music"?

The city of Roseville’s free "Summer Performance in The Park” concert series is scheduled to continue tonight at the Frank Rog Amphitheater at Central Park, Lexington Avenue and County Road C. The latest show is expected to feature Star of The North Concert Band at 6:30 p.m. playing a variety of music including including symphonic band arrangements, marches and classical works. But whether heavy rains from Saturday morning would be enough to postpone,cancel or move the show was uncertain. As of Saturday afternoon, the concrete floor of the amphitheatre was flooded over from nearby Lake Bennett. City Park and Recreation officials could not be found for comment.  On Tuesday, Rubber Soul-The Tribute will perform Beatles' music at 7:30 p.m. …

Q&A: Roseville String Ensemble Cofounder on the Group's Search for a New Home

The 13-year-old community music group is searching for concert venues in Roseville.

As a co-founder, board member and violin player with the Roseville String Ensemble, Linda Owen knows the joys and challenges of helping lead the community music group.  Started in 1998, the String Ensemble today has 35 members and plays a wide variety of music, said Owen, a former journalist and now staffer at Education Minnesota. The ensemble regularly performs with soloists from the Minnesota Orchestra and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
