A drop in housing inventory and new listings is pushing the market in favor of sellers.
For the 12th straight month, the Twin Cities' median home price has risen, continuing the metro area's housing market rebound, according to data released this week by the St. Paul Area Association of Realtors (SPAAR). The Twin Cities' median home price was $160,000 in February, up 15.5 percent compared with the same period a year ago, SPAAR said in a news release. Roseville kept pace with the metro-area trend as its median home price reached $179,900 in February, up 24.1 percent from $145,00 from the same month a year ago. Coldwell Banker survey measures home price listing affordability.
When it comes to home affordability in Minnesota, Roseville ranks in about the middle of the pack, according to new national survey released this week by Coldwell Banker Real Estate. Among 45 Minnesota real estate markets surveyed, Roseville placed 24th for the average listing price of a four-bedroom, two bathroom home. That price was $207,668, more than No, 1 ranked Owatonna at $146,652, the most affordable, but less than No. 45 ranked Red Wing at $348,493, the most expensive. That represents slightly more than a $200,000 spread between the cheapest and most expensive homes. WOW. $440k for the new house on Ryan Avenue. I bike past there everyday on my way to work, so I got to watch it under construction. Cannot BELIEVE it sold for that much. That's a good sign :)   more ›
