Rough Winter Takes a Toll on Cedarholm Golf Course

Roseville municipal course opened Sunday.

After weeks of waiting for the passing of winter snows, Roseville's Cedarholm Golf Course opened Sunday for the 2013 season.   "Golf enthusiasts were ecstatic to get the chance to be outside and enjoy the nice temperatures finally,'' said Roxann Maxey, clubhouse manager for the municipal golf course. However Maxey added, "With the extension of winter our course did suffer ice damage on an assortment of greens and tees.  The grounds crew have started the recovery process and hope to have the course looking in tip top shape in the upcoming weeks." Cedarholm Golf Course is home to Ladies Leagues M-TH mornings, Senior Leagues Friday mornings and evening leagues which begin this week, just in time for the weather to break, Maxey said.

Snow Forces Further Delays for Cedarholm Golf Course Opener

Club manager offers update on status of course.

Another week and more delays for the opening of Roseville's municipal golf course this spring. "Nothing like a April snowstorm, right!," said Roxann Maxey, clubhouse manager of Cedarholm Golf Course. "Now we're looking more like next week (for the course opening) since we haven’t had any days yet to bring any vehicles on the course for maintenance."   This year is a stark contrast to the spring of 2012. "We had alreadiy been open a few weeks(by this time) last year," Maxey said. Barring continuing inclement weather, the  city hopes to start its golf leagues by the fifth week of April.  Whenever Roseville kicks off its golf season, the municipal golf course will be offering more riding carts, increasing the number of them from six last year…
