Rosefest Medallion Found!

Dave Erickson, of Roseville, is the lucky winner of the Roseville summer treasure hunt.

The Roseville Parks and Recreation Department reported late this afternoon (Friday, June 29) that David Erickson, of Roseville, is the winner of the 2012 Golden Rose Medallion Hunt. "David gives full credit to his 8-month-old husky puppy, Siku for finding the medallion at the base of three Elm trees near the playground in Sandcastle Park," said Jill Anfang, Roseville assistant parks and recreation director. Sixth day of Roseville summer festival brought out the crowds to Central Park.

A picture-perfect evening Thursday (June 28) and a bevy of activities brought out the crowds to Roseville's Central Park for the sixth day of the Rosefest summer festival. The events included Taste of Rosefest, Touch-a-Truck  and the Teddy Bear Band performing at the Frank Rog Amphitheatre. Rosevillle Patch caught some of the action. This week's Rosefest activities are coming to an end; then the fun resumes for one final firecracker of a day- July 4th.

Latest Clue for Rosefest Medallion Search

The Roseville Parks and Recreation Department has released the latest clue for the hunt for the 2012 Rosefest Golden Medallion. Where's The Rosefest Medallion? Take a Cue From the Rhyming Clues

Will you be the lucky finder? And win the big prizes? Here's the lowdown on the contest and the first two clues.

With Rosefest, Roseville's summer festival, in full swing; a hidden golden medallion in one of the city's parks awaits to be a discovered by a resourceful treasure hunter. The city Parks and Recreation Department released the first daily medallion clue on Tuesday (June 26), the second one today (Wednesday) with more on the way. The clues are designed "to help you navigate your way to the hidden treasure,'' with a prize basket of gifts awaiting the medallion finder, said Jill Anfang, Parks and Recreation assistant director. The eight-day summer festival kicked off Saturday, is continuing through Friday (June 29); then takes a brief hiatus until July 4 when it wraps up with a day of games, concessions and entertainment at Central Park at Lexington Avenue. More than 300 people competed Saturday in Rosefest's Run For The Roses races including the 5K and 10K runs and 10K in-line skating event. There were 50 people in the in-line skating contest and 228 for the 5K run and 146 for the 10K run. Roseville Patch was there Saturday morning, catching the action. See our photo gallery. Annual Rosefest Festival Starts Saturday

Parade, blues fest, 10K run and Guns' and Hoses softball benefit game among many events planned for the eight-day Roseville summer festival.

Rosefest, Roseville’s annual summer festival, begins an eight-day run Saturday, June 23 with this year’s extravaganza offering more than 20 events. The summer celebration kicks off with a “Run/Roll for the Roses,’’ 5K and10K races for able-bodied runners and wheelchair participants that finish at the Roseville Skating Center. The races typically attract some 300 to 400 participants, according to city Parks and Recreation officials. The festival concludes on July 4 with a day of games, concessions and entertainment at Central Park at Lexington Avenue. A  fireworks show is set for 10 p.m. over Bennett Lake.
