Free Electronics Recycling Event Set Saturday at Roseville Prince of Peace Church

Fundraiser will help Girl Scout Troop 51629 raise money for a trip abroad.

Girl Scout Troop 51629 will host a Tech Dump electronics collection event  from  9 a.m.  to 1 p.m.  Saturday ( Sept. 7) at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church2561 Victoria St North in Roseville.
The recycling event will help the troop raise money for an upcoming trip abroad.
"A Tech Dump collection event would make a great partnership between the church, the scouts, and the community," said Julie Lentz, a ninth-grade troop leader and recycling event organizer. "The church hosts the event, the scouts advertise and work the event, and the community comes forth with the electronics.  We are all stewards of the earth."

Gently used, obsolete or damaged electronics will be accepted including computers, cell phones, electrical cords, internal/external drives, other miscellaneous electronic accessories, TVs, and monitors. A $10 donation is requested for CRT TVs and monitors—non-flat panels.

Tech Dump will destroy all personal information and data on computers and electronic devices at its recycling facility in Golden Valley, according to event organizers.

They added, "Tech Dump is a Minnesota and Hennepin County licensed electronics recycler (MPCA ID # MNS000167288).  To find out more and for a list of accepted items, visit their website at techdump.org/troop-51629."
