Amy Senser Appeals Sentence in Highway Death of Roseville Man

Proof that she knew she hit Anousone 'Bic' Phanthavong was circumstantial, Senser says.

Amy Senser has filed an appeal with the Minnesota Supreme Court claiming lower-court errors in the case that saw her sentenced to nearly four years in prison for criminal vehicular homicide in the death of a Roseville man, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press

"In the document filed Wednesday, defense attorney Eric Nelson says last month's ruling by the Minnesota Court of Appeals upholding the guilty verdict was wrong on several counts. ...

"Among them: Whether the appeals court erred when it said there was sufficient evidence that the Edina woman knew she had struck Thai chef Anousone 'Bic' Phanthavong, 38, of Roseville in the late-night crash."
