Endzone Club is New Booster for Roseville Football Program

Group has already bought new jerseys for middle school program.

If there seems to be more buzz and excitement these days about the Roseville High School footbal program, the Raiders Endzone Club thinks you're right.

The fledgling booster club is all about drumming up support for Raiders football, said Tyler Peterson, the group's president. "There are a lot of people who want to help," said Peterson, a youth coach and the father of two grade-school boys who are playing youth football.

Prior to the Raiders' Friday night Homecoming victory over Woodbury; Peterson said, "Our goal is to bring the whole program, from first-grade to senior high, together."

So far this season, the club has thrown tailgating barbecues before home games, bought new jerseys for the middle school program and provided yard signs that read “Home of a Roseville Football Raider” to all the high school players. The club has started with the work of eight parents and is looking into doing a variety of fundraising activities in the months ahead, Peterson said.

One of the first fundraisers is scheduled for Oct. 15 at the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant at Rosedale Commons. Ten percent of all pre-taxed food sales (less alcohol and promotional discounts) will be donated to the Roseville Raiders Endzone Club for those presenting the fundraising ticket.

The first three home Raiders games of the year have been played to big crowds, numbering in the thousands.

From Peterson's viewpoint, the booster club is helping not just the football program. "Everyone can see what a good football team can do for a school," he said, contending that a successful program can build school pride and discipline.

"It can carry the torch for the entire school and help everything else," Peterson said.
