Roseville Girls Hockey Falls to Minnetonka in State Class AA Tournament

Raiders bow 3-0 in final.

The magical season for the Roseville High School girls hockey team came to an end Saturday night as the Raiders fell to Minnetonka 3-0 in the state class AA championship final at the Xcel Center in downtown St. Paul. 

The Skippers picked up their first goal late in the first period. That proved to be all they would need, although Minnetonka scored two more goals in the final period. The victory gives Minnetonka back-to-back state titles. 

For Roseville, the defeat was only the team's third loss all season. The Raiders finished with an overall record of of 26-3-2.

One footnote: Four Roseville Raiders were named to the state class AA All-Tournament team. They were Adelle Murphy, Hanna Brodt, Kate Flug and Lee Stecklein.
