Bill Malinen Lands a New Job

The former Roseville city manager resigned last May with Mayor Dan Roe saying that difference over style contributed to the parties parting of the ways.

Former Roseville city manager Bill Malinen has landed a new job

KTTS radio reports that Malinen begins work today (Wednesday) as the new city administrator for Branson, Missouri.

The radio station noted that Malinen has more than 29 years experience in city administrator and manager roles, helping develop both rural and suburban communities. Those towns have included White Bear and Roseville in the Twin Cities; Lincoln and Avenal in California and Fife in Washington.

Malinen won the Branson job over the other finalist, David Mitchem, current  town manager of Pagosa Springs, Colo.

The Roseville Council in May unanimously appointed Pat Trudgeon, community development director, as interim city manager.

Trudgeon's appointment came at a special meeting, two days after Malinen, a six-year city veteran, resigned over what appeared to be differences in style.
